 After taking a few years off of competing with horses, I decided I wanted to try a new discipline within rodeo - breakaway roping. After seeing multiple recommendations on social media pages, I booked my first lesson with Mikayla. From day one, she created a welcoming environment, free of judgement. Within a short few months of consistent practice, she entered me in my first rodeo on her breakaway horse. From there, I continued to enter until the rodeo season ended. Mikayla has a great way of reading into people’s individual learning styles and creates education that works for them, from children to adults!   As a small business owner myself, I am always looking for creative ways to celebrate & encourage my employees towards new things! Mikayla at Harmon Horsemanship provided my team of 6 the incredible opportunity to try horseback riding for the first time. With her own hard-working compassionate team, Mikayla was able to get all of us trotting on our own by the end of our first session. Most of us had never been on a horse and were quite nervous. It was truly a remarkable experience to see myself and everyone on my team thriving in a brand new environment, in such a short time! I think a few of us have found a new hobby;)

 I can't express how grateful we are for the incredible experience my daughters had with Mikayla. Mikayla's patience and enthusiasm made the lesson very enjoyable for both my 7 year old and 15 year old.  She taught them not only how to ride, but also how to properly care for horses. She took the time to make sure they were comfortable and confident around the horses. We had so much fun through the entire experience and we look forward to working with Mikayla again in the future!

My wife, my 5 year old son and I really enjoyed learning to ride Mikaylas horses. The animals were well trained and very responsive. Plus Mikayla is amazing with both animals and people. We loved the lessons and will be returning for more in the future.

Mikayla did so amazing with my daughters first time in a horse! She was only 1 year old and Mikayla started so slow by riding with her to get her more comfortable before sitting alone. I'm so excited to watch her learn at such a young age and not be afraid! Mikayla did so great with our little that we brought my 5 yesr old nephew and 7 year old niece who had never ridden horses before and they both did great with Mikayla's hands on approach to learning.

 Our journey with Harmon Horsemanship began a few years ago when our daughter Libby started doing lessons with Mikayla.  Libby was instantly comfortable with Mikayla‘s coaching style and they formed a tight bond during her first summer of lessons. The following summer, the girls picked it up a bit and started taking things a little more serious. That’s when Mikayla offered a VIP rodeo experience to our family. Mikayla and Austin hosted us to our first rodeo and Libby Competed for the first time in Junior barrel racing. Since then we have purchased our own horse and Libby competed in a full summer of rodeo competitions in 2024. With the help of Harmon Horsemanship Libby has been able to reach and exceed her rodeo dreams. As a family, we cannot thank them enough. The rodeo world is exciting, fun and rewarding. But is is also takes a lot of responsibility hard work and determination. Mikayla and Austin can guide you in the right direction if this is the path you’re wanting to take. We cannot recommend them enough!

Harmon horsemanship has been a blessing to our family in many ways. While preparing our daughter for rodeo competitions, they were able to introduce our autistic son Luke to their gentle herd of horses. After a couple months of getting to know them, Luke saddled up and started Lessons. Luke deals with an extreme amount of anxiety, but for some reason, this was a time where he settled down and felt very comfortable. Mikayla and Austin moved at Luke’s speed and took their time with him. Luke actually advanced quite quickly and was enjoying his lessons in no time! This has given Luke a confidence he didn’t have before. Again, we cannot recommend Harmon horsemanship enough! If you are looking for a laid-back approach that takes the time to understand your wants and needs, you have found it!
